Ireland’s 1st Digital Product Passport Hackathon

We are thrilled to announce the completion of the CircThread Digital product Passport Hackathon, a dynamic event that brought together experts from the Irish industry and circular economy fields. Organised by Irish Manufacturing Research and supported by EcoWise with its expertise in Digital Product Passports from its TRACID solution. Throughout the event, several teams worked for two days on developing and simulating various use cases, exploring how Digital Product Passports (DPPs) can bolster circular economy value chains across textile, construction, packaging and plastics sectors. This collaboration provided valuable insights into creating sustainable solutions that align with evolving regulations.

Our CEO, Emre, played an instrumental role during the hackathon, guiding participants through the key features of the TRACID DPP solution while also contributing as a judge on the panel. His expertise in Digital Product Passports helped steer teams toward practical, scalable innovations. This hands-on support was crucial in advancing the development of new, impactful solutions.

At the conclusion of the event, Irish company Kinset was awarded with the hackathon prize by Irish Manufacturing Research, to further develop their solution with 60,000 euro in expert support.Their pioneering idea will undergo further piloting, with the support of CircThread’s services, to ensure their success in driving circularity and sustainability across industries. This hackathon has demonstrated the potential for collaborative innovation to shape a sustainable future.
