Digital Product Passports mandatory for Cement products from 2028

On February 24, 2025, the European Commission issued a draft standardisation request to the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) concerning cement, lime, and other hydraulic binders. This initiative aims to develop revised harmonised standards supporting the construction products regulation (EU) 2024/3110, which governs these construction materials.

Based on the timeline provided by the EU commission the new revised harmonised standards for common cement need to be ready by June 2027. One year after the Cement industry will be required to have their Digital Product Passports ready, so as to place new cement products on the EU market.
